Any ideas?

I’ve been told that these are corundum, and garnet.  Any ideas?  Found in buncombe county.
Also a jasper in there.

And they could be. One way to tell would be to shine your ultraviolet light on them and see if any fluoresce like corundum. The natural coating of the host rock makes it hard to see the gemstone inside.
