I swear its blue

I cleaned this chert off and saw a blue crystal. I used a probe, its solid, cleaned some more, no change. The pictures are not showing same color that I see. I tried two camera, different light, including sunlight, and to me its just not as saturated as it is looking at it. I also took the UV, long wave first, short  last.

Yes, I love the Blue Quartz too. Very pretty color but it is not all that uncommon. The quartz is colored blue by the inclusion of other minerals. Around here it is usually some form of Riebeckite, or the Titanium minerals Rutile or Ilmenite. In other parts of the world it can be other minerals.

You know, this was the first time I've ever seen blue quartz. It was surprising and really neat to see that little flash of blue. Thanks for the link-

Yeah that some pretty blue quartz there. I agree with Joe, although I would add that I believe it's more uncommon than it is common. Just maybe more on the common side of uncommon.   Grin And it also depends on where you live in the world as I suppose it could be potentially more common in Spain. Nice photos!
