This is one of my favorites. It's translucent with dark green and red colors also has white in it. Found In New Mexico. It could also be a green moss agate but I'm thinking chalcedony

First of all, Agate and Chalcedony are different names for the same thing. An agate is made of chalcedony. Since most agates are different colors and have different inclusions the whole rock is called an agate. But if you have a clear agate with no inclusions you might want to call that a piece of pure chalcedony. And Chalcedony is a micro or cryptocrystalline form of Quartz. Jasper, Chert, Flint, and Agate are all different formations of Quartz. Bloodstone is a Jasper. Opaque unless cut very thin.

This is another very pretty piece. The colors remind me of Texas Plume agate. I think the internal structures would be called plumes, rather than moss, by most folks. Nice find. Smiley

So here's a picture of a wet rough slab of Texas Plume Agate.
There isn't as much black or green in this piece as there is in a lot of it. The contrast between the red and black can be awesome in some pieces. And these plumes look a little more like flattened beds of moss, or kelp, than plumes, but just for the sake of illustration this would be called;
A slab of Texas agate with red plumes in a clear chalcedony matrix. Wink
