Iron ore?

Found this one in San Bernardino mountains it's real heavy. I cut a piece off and it's metallic on the inside. Maybe pyrite with what I researched.

Yes, looks like some concentrated iron formation. There may be some Magnetite in there, too. Is it at all magnetic?

A magnet does stick to it. But it doesn't attract.

Just thinking, (I know, I'm trying to quit), but if it did have strong enough magnetism to attract objects I believe it would be called Lodestone?

I agree with you that it could be iron pyrite.  Just a very weathered and oxidized.  The iron in the pyrite would explain why they magnet sticks to it.
