Headed out to...

Green rock mountain today. For elk hunting but if we walk anywhere the rocks are being picked up.
Very warm and dry for the 10th of November. Last year at this time it was  very cold temps and a foot of snow.
Still picking rocks but have been so busy with deer hunting and other things.
No deer for me this season. I've seen 3 bucks and 2 was yesterday and 1 in the neighbors field. A very strange season for deer. I can't even find a whitetail doe to shoot. Cry

Have a great day everyone.

Seen elk at 1.5 miles away and a hefty uphill climb.

Picked up a handful of rocks. No green ones today. Didn't feel like climbing the big hill.

Went out this morning. Husband says it isn't a bad hike.
My patootie! Straight up and up. Seen elk about 2 miles away. Finally came back down.
I will never ever listen to him again. He's like a mountain goat!
I ache and hurt from hips to toes.
Going out tomorrow but only sitting and glassing. I'm sure you'll be able to hear the scream when I get up in the morning.

Sounds like you'll need to start the day off with a little Yoga.  Cheesy

Take us some pictures while you're glassin' around up there, and enjoy the weather!

Nice warm day. Didn't see any elk nor people at one place we went. Reason being no elk there.
Did see one nice small horned and bodied 4x4 buck. He was down along the creek rubbing his horns in a bush advertising his where about to other does.

First picture is the mountain we went by first thing no elk.
Second picture is the tallest mountain in Idaho on the other side where we drove over to. Where I took the picture from elevation is about 8500 feet or so. The mountain across the way is 12k.

56 out right now. It's unreal how nice and warm it is.
Have the house opened up to air out.
Watered my lettuce and tiny row of carrots that are in a hot house under a frost cover. It's still green and growing.
Watered my asparagus so it doesn't dry out too much. It's not growing just resting for the winter. It's also in a hot house.

Last year at this time. It was in the twenties for day time temps and a foot of snow on the ground.

Your weather sounds about the same as we have here. Enjoy it while you can.
But yes, it's dry. Real dry. Hope to find the time to get my kayak wet and take a look at some lake shores while the water is down.

Dave, that's the reason we are so dry. You coastal states hog all the water. Grin

Yesterday while out and about there was a real strong wind blowing from the west. Of course to get back to the truck we had to go with the wind.
Poor dog was grey from the dust he got a bath when we got home. Need to clean windows on the UTV.

Suppose to have some moisture coming in tomorrow night.

Found another handful of calcedony type rocks yesterday. Brought them home of course. Sitting a bucket of Iron Out right now.

Took this photo sitting at 7440 ft elevation. That is the mighty Salmon river down in the bottom.
Have found sea shells at the 8500 foot level. That river has been eating away at the earth a long time.
