Searching

So my fiancee and her mom drag the whole family to the coast every summer to look for agets.... at a beach, mostly pebbles, with unswimable waters... boring... but I love her.
Her mom and her step dad find and give each other heart shaped rocks. We adopted this habit as well. Prior to us getting together. I didn't give much thought to many rocks out there.
Over the years we have been together doing this. My attention to rocks underfoot has drastically increased.

4-5 months ago I found an almost perfectly spherical rock with some neat markings. She thought it may be a geode. So bust it open we did and.... nothing... just a "spherical" rock. As I learned in my Google searches those few days. "Round" applies to flat rocks too... but since ruining a nice rock for nothing. I have become one of them... I am now searching for a naturally formed, naturally found, perfectly spherical rock.

One of the rocks I found in this search. I can not find it's like, with the key words I have used. Now I am here. In hopes that one of you may be able to help me identify the rock.

My name is aj and I hunt for spherical rocks in anderson c.a.

welcome aj.

There is a lot to read on this site and some very knowledgeable people too. I'm not one of them still learning and getting quite confused most of the time. I like color and shapes too. Finally quit picking up marble sized rocks and now into baseball sized and bigger.

Do you have pictures of it? Not easy to help ID a rock (or anything else for that matter) with no pic. Undecided

Dave, Did you just wake up or what? Wink I believe he is referring to the picture he posted in the "Identifying" section.
Which is a very nice round rock. I don't go out looking for round rocks but whenever I see a nice symmetrical one I'll pick it up. Never know when you might need a nice round rock.
Welcome to the Board, aj  Smiley

Actually I had just gotten in from work a little before that & didn't connect the two posts.

These are all the spherical rocks that have made it home as a result of my endeavor. There are other rocks that I brought home. I liked their markings or something about them caught my eye. However this about the spherical ones.

Nice collection. I like that some have been painted.  Looks like they could be easter eggs.  Cheesy
