Any ideas what this is?

I have/can find a fair bit of this.  It has reddish orange on the outside and what seems to be quartz under that layer. I live in the western slope of colorado and this was found in Bangs Canyon Grand Junction.  Thanks for any help!

Pretty little piece. Looks like a little layer or vein of Botryoidal Agate. A vein of quartz like chalcedony with bumps on it.
