what are these

Found these in some chert. The crystalin things are not faceted but reflect light as if they were. The other thing I have no idea except wondering if it is a fossil of some kind.

Hey Rob, thanks for more the chert pictures! Good to see you're still keeping an eye on it. Wink
Can't say for sure what they are but they both look 'mineral' to me and not fossils.
First one with the sphere of laths radiating from the center sure looks like Wavellite, but it might probably be more of the Kidwellite? A third guess would possibly be radiating Pyrophyllite?
The pretty little babyblue mound looks like Botryoidal Chalcedony. If it's real hard, like agate, then that's what it probably is. Would also be interesting to see how it fluoresces?
