I've never seen any like that before, but the obvious
"Guess", and I do mean guess, would be Prasiolite.

Rusty at Cornerstone Minerals in Asheville is who these are from.  Next time you are in Asheville swing by and ask him if he has one or two he might part with.  This pic is over a year old.  I haven't bought in new stones in well over 6 months Sad

Well thank you, AG. You are too kind.
Even tho chrome diopside is where I was heading, I was
still a long way from Tanzania. Wink

Nice specimens, AG!  Chrome diopside is a very pretty mineral, and your specimens are so gemmy and top notch.

Here is my What Is It? for the day.

Identify the larger green crystals and the small orangish crystals to the lower right of the specimen.  My only hints are, I found it at an old abandoned tungsten mine in the Huachuca Mountains of Arizona in 1973, and the green crystals are not epidote.  That may be too much of a hint.

A shot of the entire specimen.

A closeup of the small crystals.

As close as I can get of the same crystals.

Have at it guys.  Good luck.

Dennis

apatite (green) and grossular (orange)?

orange is perhaps Scheelite, I know that is usually associated with Tungsten, but the crystals shape from what I can tell doesn't look right for it

Good guesses, Dave, but I will wait until Joe, Scott, and others give their opinions before I divulge their identities.  Wink Tongue

Well Dennis, I've got to agree with Dave, but I'll bite.

If the green is not Apatite, then we're looking at beryl. The
terminations on the green look like beryl, but I have a
sneaky suspicion that you are looking for Chrysoberyl as
a reply on it, so...........I'll go with
Chrysoberyl and Grossular.

Sorry, Joe,  neither chrysoberyl or garnet are they.  I'll see if there are any more guesses today and post the answer later in the evening.

If I know Dennis it's going to be some mineral that is not even recognized as coming from that area(like vesuvianite for the large green crystal) but lo and behold he has found one.  LOL  Grin Grin Grin
