These were found by John Frazier on Grandfather Mtn., NC.   He explained,
   
     "Here are some pics of quartz crystals collected on Grandfather Mtn. in the 1970's.  Just as
      they were mined.  This deposit produced chlorite phantoms and other interesting inclusions.
      This site is way off limits today. In the old days it was a three mile hike in and out."

man those are nice! sure wish I had found more spots in that immediate area while i was in school up there. I did find one nice little outcrop that was exposed in a washed out road bank during the fall 04 floods. The crystals I have are very similar in structure, I don't believe mine have much chlorite though.
