Great quiz and clues, Dennis!
Yes, it has about driven me crazy so I need to make some
WAG's before I spend anymore time on it.
Here goes nothing.
1. Babingtonite, Lenoir Quarry, Caldwell Co.
2. Andradite var. Melanite, Henson Creek, Mitchell Co.
courtesy John Frazier.
3. This one is really tough because you can't tell much from
the picture. We know it is from Jackson Co. Tremolite is
too common, so I'm guessing Antigorite, but will be
looking/waiting for more clues.
4. Huebnerite, Hamme Mine, Vance Co.
5. Really wanted to call this Pseudomalachite or even
Chalcosiderite, but the 1823 date and an article about
Steve Adams identifying this mineral clinched it.
Libethenite, Clegg Mine, Lee Co.
6. Scott called the mineral and my WAG on a location is
Mincey Mine, Macon Co.
I'll be patiently waiting for more clues.
