Reel Miner,

I hear that you are the one who knows about the Union County Smokies? I've seen some of it on this site. Really impressive. I am curious, some years ago I purchased (2) large smokies from a fellow at the Sweet Union Flea Market there in Monroe, NC. The guy didn't know much about them only that his father had them and he believed that they were from Union County. At that time, I'd never seen nor heard of such from Union County. Then I saw your amazing finds recently on this site and began to wonder about them. If your ever about Rockingham please fell free to stop by I'd like your opinion on them or if there is a dig in the near future that maybe you might attend, I'll try to bring them. I'd sure like to know if they are really Union County as I have been told? I wish that I had gotten the name of the man who sold them to me but I wasn't expected to find such a thing at a flea market so I didn't think to ask. These were the only rocks he had on his table that day. Thanks.
