New here. I know a couple people already on here and met a couple others I believe. I'm near NC/SC line. I'm new to digging and collecting about a year now and have gone for mica once and corundum a few times. Hope to find more leads and places to dig something. Don't know what I'm looking for, I'll just be looking. I find getting in a hole and digging in the silence (I can't hear much around me anyway) is good for my blood pressure and peace of mind.

Hello, Peter. There are some really knowledgeable folks on the Rock Hound Forum.  As you said, you've met a lot of the people who post here.  I even put a picture you took on one of the boards of Jerry, Rebecca and Becky at the Propst Farm.
Welcome.

Welcome Peter!  Yes, I believe the whole hobby of rockhounding is great for that blood pressure.  Most of us don't know what we're looking for either, but all it takes is one find of a particular mineral and you'll know where and how to get more.  Don't know what it is?  Post a picture and we'll do the best we can to ID it.  Depending where your at on the NC/SC line you may be in a very hot zone for some great minerals.

Yep, me and Becky at the Probst that day. You took pictures for Jerry on his phone and generously gifted us a xtl. Great to hear from you on here. I have the bug Probst and have been bugging Becky to meet me back at the Probst. Hopefully that will be soon.

xtl? We went yesterday and got a few pieces. Nothing like that one day. I must have pulled out over 80 pieces. I saw a nice piece get pulled out last month by a fellow in Asheville.

Yes yes yes! Let's go somewhere soon Becky! I am going to explode, implode, or drive off a bridge, if I don't get to diggin' soon.  Tongue When is your Spring Break? We should do something during the week.
