I pulled this rock out for the first time in a few years yesterday to show Scott and took a few quick pics after giving it a bath.
This should be a destination for all rockhounds atleast once and I'm surprised there wasn't all ready a thread on here for it.
ROAD TRIP!! Cheesy

Pulled from the creek at the Eureka Mine, Marion, Kentucky.
Third pic is close-up of little dark to gray crystals that are almost coating the fluorite in areas. I have been calling it Cerrusite but need to look at it closer.

Really nice. I would love to go back there - it has been at least 8 years or so.
I have some beautiful pieces from there, but none with those small grey crystals, but I should check again.  There was sphalerite and galena with the fluorite on my specimens.

That's a really nice one, Joe.  I don't think the Clement museum had any open rock collecting dates this year.  Sad

yes, I don't know what's up with that. I think you may be able to contact them and set up your own private fieldtrips, but I have not tried.

Took some quick pics of another piece from the Eureka today.
The fluorite on this piece is also liberally coated with the small brownish Cerrussite crystals, but this piece is small enough for me to get under my longwave ultraviolet light so you can see the fluorescent quality of the Cerrussite.
The last pic is an action shot. Roll Eyes

Just want to add pics of  both sides of one more from the Eureka.
Cool little bed of drusy on this piece, but not sure what it is? Half of it is fluorescent? Sorry, not a very good picture.
