Wow thanks for the show Scott. They are all absolutely amazing! And I am so glad to be here... Just been reading around it's so fascinating to see everyone's finds and hear their experienced advice. Cheers all and Happy Holidays.
Happy Hunting as well!!

Had time to stop by the cemetery for a quick spot-check today to see if there were any wayward soul gems looking for a home.
And it was a fine idea, too. Took me all of five minutes to stumble across this one.

If you guys weren't so nice and I didn't like you guys so much....ARGH!!!!! Why can't we have crystals like that over here!
And that mica flower!!!? THAT is wonderful! Do you have more of that? Can we trade for some? I need to put those in the center of flowers. I haven't made any in three or four years now, but I am not finished with that idea and still have several to make. I still have some to give to people they were made for...

Interesting. The crystal told me it had been hiding from you.

WOW!!!
There's a big ol' construction site right down the road from me (Orange County-Durham County line), 100% dirt, not a single rock to be seen! (unless you count the pavement that's been torn up...)

Great pics, Scott. That is some awesome pretty quartz you guys found!
I just wanted to add some pics of this "ugly" crystal from last Sunday's worship at the Cemetery.

Hey Scott, has this thread always been here or did you just work some sort of magic to create it?!
Either way, it's nice to have it! Thanks!
Here's a couple more of a nice crystal with a patch of layers of redgold reticulated rutile needles on one side.

Oops, wrong pic.
We all have seen the reticulated red, gold, and maybe other colors(?), rutile found at the Cemetery and the whole Tessin Zone. But occasionally we see these ultra-tiny gold to orange crystals that we have guessed Anatase, Brookite, and Monazite as possibilities.
Maybe Scott will want to try and get better pics of this recent find but these will hopefully give you a peek at it. 3 close-up slightly different angles of the same crystal.

Well, these pictures have got to go somewhere so here they go.
They mark the end of "The Cemetery". Burial is complete. This one little stretch of land has been sitting untouched for the last year while the apartments go up all around it. We have been patiently waiting and watching for this time to come. Very bittersweet. I will miss digging in the beautiful smooth golden 'Oil of Olay' clay.
It is only right that we remember this epic Wake County quartz crystal hot spot with as many pictures as possible.
The Cemetery, January, 2018 - March, 2021.
Pics; Day 1, Day 2, and Scott finding a vein.

Pic 1- Just to show some of the colorful layers.
Pic 2- Little crystallizing fissure higher in the wall that you may be able to see is all fractured in-situ.
Pic 3- Trowel is pointing to the 'bottom' or lowest point of this crazy fissure, which is where the most crystallization usually is.
Pic 4- Later that evening.............!
