I am getting very excited to head to Connecticut for a long weekend of mineral collecting in about three weeks so I thought I'd post this pic of a fine blue beryl I dug in Portland last October fresh out of the dumps.

Oh, and a cinnabar chanterelle growing on the ground surface right above where it came from!!!

Those are both healthy looking specimens! I'd be getting excited, too!

I've been reading up on Riebeckite lately and, of course, coming across mention of the "Touchenite". Pretty rare rock. Glad to already have a specimen! Wink
