This is in some chert from Girard. The cylindrical thing is what I'm curious about, at first I thought it might be a .30 caliber bullet. Pretty sure it's not a rock, as it's very light, it is UV inert. Any ideas?

Looks like some sort of Tube worm? The tube worm fossils are usually hollow but it may be a variety?

Not that I am opposed to a little excitement, now and then, for this case I decided to seek out "boring worms".
Found a very good article well worth reading. About halfway down read the paragraph under the picture of "Bored Lignite".
Could be they're some boring old clams.
