Slag or Obsidian?

Found a bunch of this at a spot that has both volcanic activity as well as an old small mine so I'm not sure if it's slag or obsidian.

Tough call. I am assuming you found it in Arizona or another western state where there is a possibility of finding obsidian? And was obsidian a by-product of the mine?
Vesicles do not rule out the possibility of obsidian but for this piece they are enough for me to guess slag?

I'm leaning towards slag due to the bubbles, somewhat colorful appearances on some of the pieces, and the amount of slag in the area. My uncle found some volcanic material in South East Massachusetts. He sent some of the material in to the state geological survey to look at and per them it included rhyolite and ignimbrit. Unfortunately I think they believe it's a prank. I picked this up myself at the site.
