Everyone surviving the summer?
We went through a long session of heat.
Now we've gotten a break from the heat but we're totally socked in with smoke. Most mornings can't see across the valley. By afternoon the inversion will lift and can see a couple of miles.
Today is our coolest day and possibility of some rain.
Tomorrow we start heating back up to mid to upper 90's. Also the smoke will be here probably the rest of the summer.

Good Morning ID, I've been wondering how the weather's been treating you up there? Sounds like summer. Maybe a little hotter and drier than before?
"They" were saying the smoke from CA was visible around here a couple days ago? I couldn't really see it. That's a big dang fire they got going out there now!
We'll heat up for a few days and then some rain will cool things off a bit and the humidity drenches you. Just waiting for the hurricanes to start rolling in!

We had a few weeks of triple digit temps almost every day, to 80's the next week and this week so far. Triple digits again by the weekend followed by upper 90's next week (so far). Haven't gotten much smoke from Canada here, but we are making up for it with our own.  Hasn't been super bad, but we've had some very "dirty" looking sunrises with an almost blood red sun in the morning lately, followed by a sort of burnt red orange moon.  Undecided

JoeM, hotter than normal or for a longer period. Just as dry as normal,
going back to hot. Nice day had some rain this morning with a little more later today. It brought the RH up and we're about to melt. We went from 15% to 40%,  Grin

Daves64, we're getting our own smoke plus everything in eastern Oregon and now California too. Rained enough to cut out the heavy smoke can still see the haze.

Had a nice rain/shower yesterday afternoon and it sure cleaned the air.
Heat starting back today. Will see what and how much the smoke comes back in.

Had 2 days of smoke free air.

Up high looking for Big Horn Sheep and you could see the red/black wall of smoke drifting back in. By mid day we were smoked in again. Also the heat is back for several more days.
Could this be round 2 for wildfires to start up again?

Smoke was letting up a little.
Last night a big wall of blue rolled back in.
It's called the Snag fire west of us by a long ways.
The Paddock fire went to 187k acres. It was in grass and some sage brush.
I'm so glad and happy I wasn't still on the fire lookout. My old lookout was burned again in this fire. This time this fire did a lot more damage and threatened 2 small communities.
More monsoon moisture coming in tomorrow. I sure hope it's wet. Watched a nice lightning show Saturday night. The forest has picked up a few new starts. Most of the fires are under a quarter acre or less.

If anyone wants to view these fires got to WatchDuty.org
