Well, I don't have much to report but I'm very glad I went.
It's been years since I've been in the heart of corundum country
or to the shows, and it was very educational.
I met a few ol'timers, legends in their own right, and learned a bit of the history of the area.
And it's always good to see folks you've dug with. Smiley

One nice thing about Franklin is they have quite a few good restuarants to choose from.
I didn't get around much. here's the view from our parking lot toward Franklin at dusk. Roll Eyes

You could probably find anything you wanted at one of the many shows going on.
I prowled around the one we were at.
A whole lot of what you would expect to see, but some
atypical pieces of the typical stuff.
Like this piece of Brazillian amethyst with a huge nice calcite perched on top $425.00,
or this large piece of baby blue Hemimorphite.

Besides for the Elmwood Barite I purchased, (pics in the Tennessee section),
this piece of mica with garnets from Pine Mtn, Mitchell Co., NC caught my eye.

And one day this infamous digger duo from Asheville shows up
and he offers me these two pieces of Afghanistan Green Spodumene
for a Crabtree Emerald I've had on display for sale for years
and I guess I was overwhelmed by the spontaneous energy coming from these pieces
that I said why not. Cool
And then he shows me one of their recent finds from Probst. Shocked

Last but not least, a couple pics of some absolutely beautiful
Ellis Farm amethyst dug in the last year.
I was very happy to be able to see it!
